Biography
A classical batsman who has adapted to the more hard hitting demands of the modern game, Stewart Walters was called upon to lead Surrey after Mark Butcher retired in the middle of the 2009 season and performed superbly. As well as his leadership, Walters will also remember 2009 fondly for the back to back big hundreds he registered at the Guildford Festival and then at the Brit Oval against Leicestershire. Now playing under the leadership of Rory Hamilton-Brown, Walters will be keen to play more innings like the resilient 82 he scored in the final match of last season against Glamorgan.
