Biography
An ever present in the Surrey side since joining from Hampshire for the start of the 2009 season, opening batsman Michael Brown was just eight runs short of the magic mark of 1,000 first-class runs in the year. His belligerent, battling innings at the top of the order were a common theme of the season and his dedication to the art of batting was rewarded with two centuries against Leicestershire and Derbyshire as well as some eye catching performances in Twenty20 and Pro40 cricket. Looking to the future, Brown will be keen to score more consistent heavy runs and develop a new strong partnership at the top of the Surrey order.
