Two Changes as Surrey head for Derbyshire
22 April 2009
Chris Adams has made two changes for Surrey’s second LV County Championship game of the season, which starts away at Derby on Wednesday (April 22nd).
Once again led by stand in skipper Michael Brown, the thirteen man squad includes left arm quick bowler Pedro Collins and destructive batsman Scott Newman, who have been included at the expense of off-spinner Murtaza Hussain and young seamer Stuart Meaker.
The side maintains the balance of youth and experience Adams laid down in his first squad with the likes of Laurie Evans, Matthew Spriegel and Chris Jordan playing alongside more experienced heads such as Alex Tudor, Andre Nel and Usman Afzaal.
The Derbyshire game is Surrey’s first away fixture of the season and will be followed by a trio of away ties in the Friends Provident Trophy with the squad due to visit Gloucestershire, Durham and Yorkshire before returning for a LV County Championship derby with Middlesex at the Brit Oval on Wednesday May 6th.
The full Surrey squad to take on Derbyshire at Derby from Wednesday April 22 to Saturday April 25 is:
Michael Brown (Captain)
Laurie Evans
Scott Newman
Matthew Spriegel
Usman Afzaal
Jonathan Batty
James Benning
Chris Schofield
Alex Tudor
Chris Jordan
Andre Nel
Jade Dernbach
Pedro Collins
The game with Derbyshire starts at 11am on Wednesday April 22nd and continues until Saturday April 25th.
