Surrey Ladies look for first win against Kent
23 May 2009
The Surrey Ladies are looking to bounce back from two a dissappointing start to the season by getting their first points on the board when they take on Kent at Redoubtables CC this Sunday (May 24th).
The side is once again captained by England World Cup star Nicky Shaw - Player of the Match in the side's memorable victory over New Zealand in the final earlier this year - and also features fellow England squad member Ebony Rainford-Brent.
The Ladies' first season back in the top flight of domestic cricket started with an eight wicket home defeat to Sussex before they travelled to Somerset and narrowly failed to chase down a target of 219 for victory, eventually losing out by 21 runs.
The full Surrey Ladies squad to take on Kent at Redoubtables CC on Sunday May 24th is:
Nicky Shaw (Captain)
Amanda Potgieter (Vice Captain)
Lucy Binns (Wicket Keeper)
Sarah Clarke
Holly Knight
Laura Pierce
Ebony Rainford-Brent
Jade Robson
Katherine Robson
Cecily Scutt
Oli Thurogood
Surrey Ladies coach David Court told www.surreycricket.com: "Looking to bounce back from two defeats, we will be looking to bat better than we have done in previous games.
"If we manage this then I am confident we can come out with a result at the end of the game."
The game will start at Redoubtables CC at 11am on Sunday May 24th, entrance, as ever, is free.
