Strong Second XI side sent to Hove

Ian Salisbury has picked a strong Second XI side for his first competitive game in charge of Surrey's second string.

Once again skippered by Stewart Walters, the side features a number of players who have already represented the first XI this season, including homegrown youngsters such as Laurie Evans, Matthew Spriegel, Chris Murtagh and Stuart Meaker. The game is also the first match back in Surrey colours for Gary Wilson, who has recently returned from recording the 'Associate Treble' with Ireland and securing their qualification for 2011 World Cup.

Today's game is a 50 over a side One Day match in the Second XI Trophy. Next, from tomorrow (Wednesday April 29th) to Friday May 1st the Second XI will play a three day match against the same opponents, also at Hove.
