Surrey scored 244/9 from their 50 overs, led by Jonathan Batty's 53 and Alex Tudor's 59. Other useful contributions came from Laurie Evans (27), Seren Waters (24) and Tom Jewell (26).

Chris Murtagh is again captaining the Surrey Second XI as a well balanced side takes on Essex in a Bank Holiday Trophy match at Billericay CC.
With a fourteen man squad at Lord's for the start of the Surrey Brown Caps' Twenty20 Cup campaign, it is a sign of the deep squad available that Ian Salisbury has been able to pick a side including stars such as Alex Tudor, Murtaza Hussain and Jonathan Batty.
The more experienced trio line up alongside a number of Pemberton Greenish Academy stars such as Seren Waters, Tom Lancefield, Rory Burns, George Edwards, Tom Jewell and Freddie van den Burgh, who is performing Twelfth Man duties.
