One Month to Go!
9 March 2010
Although it may still seem a little chilly outside – it is now officially one month until Surrey play their first competitive fixture of the 2010 season.
Whilst new captain Rory Hamilton-Brown will first lead out a Surrey side in the Emirates Twenty20 tournament in Dubai on Friday March 19th, the first steps he takes onto the Brit Oval will be shortly before 11am on Friday April 9th when he strides out to toss up with his Derbyshire compatriot Chris Rogers ahead of the LV= County Championship Division Two opener.
Before then Surrey fans can look forward to matches against the Fly Emirates XI, Cape Cobras, Sussex Sharks and the United Arab Emirates on the pre-season tour in Dubai and then domestic pre-season friendlies against Hampshire on March 29th and 30th at the Rose Bowl and Cambridge UCCE at Fenners from April 3-5.
Alongside Hamilton-Brown, Surrey have five other new signings waiting to make their full debuts for the Club: Steven Davies, Gareth Batty, Chris Tremlett and Rao Iftikhar Anjum – all of whom should be available for April 9th – and Piyush Chawla, who will representing the King’s XI Punjab in IPL at the start of April and should be available to make his Surrey debut in early May.
Tickets are not pre-sold for the LV= County Championship but for more information on purchasing tickets for the Clydesdale Bank 40, please click here and for the Friends Provident t20 competition, please click here.
