Meaker Penalised by ECB
Meaker Penalised by ECB
24 June 2009
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Surrey's Stuart Meaker has received penalty points under the ECB’s discipline code.
Meaker was reported by Umpires Michael Gough and Jeremy Lloyds for a Level Two breach of the code (bowling an accidental high full pitched delivery that resulted in the bowler being disallowed from bowling further in the innings) following an incident in Surrey’s LV= County Championship match against Leicestershire June 16–19, 2009.
He has received three penalty points, which will remain on his record for a period of two years. He now has a total of six penalty points. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
