England Joy for Matthew Dunn

Surrey youngster Matthew Dunn has been handed a place in the England U18 squad to take on a Scotland Development XI in Glasgow next month.
Dunn, 16, a member of the Pemberton Greenish Surrey Academy, will join up with the squad for the games, which will take place in Glasgow from May 25-30th as part of the preparation for the ICC Under 19’s World Cup due to take place in February 2010.
Speaking to the official Surrey website, the PG Academy Director Gareth Townsend said: “It’s good news for Matthew. He’s been working hard during the winter with our coaches after having a back problem last summer.”
Dunn was also a member of the successful PG Academy tour to South Africa earlier this year and impressed in their first game of the season against Normandy CC on Sunday, taking two wickets early in the innings.
“As well as being good for him personally, it also shows our players are progressing up the ladder and are good enough to represent their country”, Townsend added.
The PG Academy has had a very successful start to the season, with the side winning by ten wickets on Sunday and PG Academy member Tom Lancefield scoring well for the Second XI against Reigate Priory CC on Saturday and Emerging Players squad member George Edwards also impressing coach Ian Salisbury.
