2010 Second XI Fixtures Announced

The fixture list for the Surrey Second XI 2010 campaign was announced today and is available to view below.

Ian Salisbury’s men will start the season with a three day friendly against Sussex at Horsham from April 12 to April 14 before kicking off the defence of their Second XI Championship title against Middlesex at Radlett from April 21 to 23.

Their first game in the One Day Second XI Trophy will take place against Somerset at the Brit Oval on April 26 with games against Gloucestershire, Essex, Sussex and Durham following in May.

With the venues for some games currently to be confirmed, Surrey grounds used for fixtures will include: The Brit Oval, Guildford CC, Purley CC, Cheam CC, Whitgift School, Cranleigh School and Reigate Priory CC.

Second XI Coach Ian Salisbury told the official Surrey website: “We are very much looking forward to defending our Second XI Championship trophy as part of another busy season of fixtures.

“To try and mirror the First XI programme wherever possible we have started our campaign earlier in 2010 and have managed to limit the number of games being played during the Friends Provident Twenty20 to enable our young players to make the most of the opportunities presented to them.

“We will once again be aiming to field as many of the Club’s exciting young players as possible and I hope to welcome Surrey fans and Members to our games throughout the season.”
