Coach Education plays a pivotal role in the overall development of cricket within the county and we run courses throughout the winter to expand and improve our existing coaching base. As competition for places on these courses is so high, Surrey Cricket are prioritising places to candidates from Surrey affiliated clubs. The ECB - under the direction of its Cricket Department - runs a National Coaching Scheme, which is designed to equip coaches with the necessary skills to deliver high quality coaching programmes at all levels of the game.
Following the West Surrey District Cricket Roadshow in October 2008 Hartley Bishop, Regional Training Manager for the ECB, has confirmed exactly what each of the various coaching qualifications that have existed over the past 20 years or more equate to in terms of managing or coaching within a net situation. The following attachment gives an explanation on where the coaching qualifications sit.
