Affliation / Friends of Surrey Cricket

Any cricket club or any school can affiliate to Surrey Cricket and receive a number of benefits. There are two options: 1 - Basic Affiliation 2 - Friend of Surrey Cricket (FOSC)

Chance to Shine (C2S)

Chance to shine is the single biggest school-sport development initiative ever undertaken in Britain. It recognises the power of competitive cricket to help young people acquire skills, values and attitudes.

Clubmark

Clubmark accredited means those clubs are safe, effective and child friendly. All clubs with junior sections must achieve Clubmark accreditation.

Funding

There are many funding opportunities that may assist cricket club in achieving its goals. Most funding agencies require evidence cricket club is adhering to a welfare policy, is running a junior section and has achieved, or are working towards Clubmark.

Ground Development - SCGA

Surrey Cricket Groundsman’s Association (SCGA) "Driving Surrey Cricket from the ground up". Membership of the SCGA is through Affiliation (details above) the Membership includes: Invitation to the Annual Conference, Access to the Pitch Advisory Team and Mentoring Scheme.

Junior League Cricket

West Surrey League - There are 54 Clubs playing in 8 leagues.
East Surrey League - There are 18 Clubs playing in 9 leagues.
North, East, Central Surrey (NECS) League  - There are 25 Clubs playing in 9 leagues.
Mid-Surrey League - There are 16 Clubs playing in 3 leagues and 4 Cups

NatWest Cricket Force

NatWest CricketForce weekend took place on 3rd, 4th and 5th April, Surrey TV have a video of the two days that Surrey Cricket and clubs took part.

NatWest OSCAs

The NatWest OSCAs (Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards) are aimed at recognising those volunteers who give so much of their time to the game of cricket – without these individuals the game would not survive.

ECB Information

Overseas Players / Coaches

Under the changes to the UK immigration system, cricket clubs wishing to have overseas players and coaches will now need to obtain a 'sponsor licence' in order to bring over players and coaches from outside the EU into this country to work, and this licence is obtained from the UK Borders Agency.  Detailed infomration can be found ECB Website.

Umpires & Scorers (SCB ACO)

The SCB Association of Cricket Officials (SCB ACO) acts as an umbrella organisation for the five ECB ACO affiliated umpires' and scorers' associations within Surrey.

Senior League Cricket

There are 6 Senior Leagues in Surrey:

  1. Shepherd Neame Surrey Championship
  2. Fuller's Brewery Surrey County League – The champions + Runners up of the 1st Division 1st XI are linked by means of promotion and relegation of the Surrey Championship.  
  3. Surrey Downs League  - Four Divisions of Cricket.
  4. I'Anson Cup League Clubs from Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex compete.
  5. The Village League - The league was originally formulated to provide a structure and competitive cricket to local village sides that had often been playing each other for years as 'friendly' fixtures.
  6. Surrey Trust League - The Surrey Trust League exists to bridge the gap between junior and senior cricket encouraging young players over the traditional ‘colts’ ages to play in competitive.
