Weddings at the Brit Oval

The Brit Oval, where England won the Ashes this summer, is throwing its doors open to welcome weddings and civil partnerships all year round.

Couples who decide to take the big step can pick from a wide variety of rooms all around the ground. The new OCS Stand at the Vauxhall End of the ground offers state of the art modern facilities in a unique location, whilst the historic pavilion enables them to tie the knot in an 1895 building that has looked down upon some of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game.

The different facilities around the ground allow the planning of everything from an intimate ceremony with just twenty people to a grand spectacle with over 400 guests. It is even possible to book the ground’s Long Room and be married in a superb wood panelled room that has hosted great cricketers from W.G. Grace, Sir Jack Hobbs and Sir Donald Bradman to Sir Ian Botham, Shane Warne and Andrew Flintoff.

Rooms around the ground are also available to stage receptions of all shapes and sizes. We can either arrange for a DJ or band you have in mind to set up and play in the room or put you in contact with a specialist promoter who is able to book anything from an elegant string quartet to a covers band or mobile DJ.

Any weddings booked at the ground can also benefit from the superb hospitality offered by the catering team at the Brit Oval, who are renowned across the industry for their attention to detail and the excellence of their catering services.

The Executive Head Chef at the Brit Oval, Chris Garrett, is one of the finest chefs currently working in the sports industry. After learning his trade with the RAF, Chris has risen to cook for both the Royal Family and visiting Heads of State. He has also worked as Head Chef at Arsenal FC’s exclusive Diamond Club, where he worked with French cooking great Raymond Blanc to devise the menu and as Head Chef at the new Wembley Stadium.

Even for people who are not cricket fans, the Brit Oval offers a unique wedding venue in the heart of Central London. Easily accessible from mainline train stations across London and served by one Overground and two Underground stations, the ground offers an ideal solution for couples who want to get married in the heart of London.

The zone two location also means that all kinds of accommodation – from five star hotels on the banks of the River Thames to affordable bed and breakfasts – are easily available within a ten minute cab ride. The ground has preferential rates with several local hotels.
