Sustainability

The Brit Oval is committed to minimising the impact of its impact on the environment. Whilst we have already invested heavily in support of environmentally friendly programmes, our vision for the future of the Brit Oval will continue to address challenges in an attempt to create a truly environmentally sustainable venue for future generations.

Climate change is widely considered to be the largest long-term threat to society on a global level and therefore poses a high risk for the future prosperity of individuals and businesses. The Brit Oval recognises the impact its activities have on the environment and aims to minimise these wherever possible. Furthermore, as a recognised sporting venue, we believe we have a duty to communicate our environmental values and commitments, and demonstrate responsible leadership. The Brit Oval is committed to continual environmental improvement and this shall be achieved through adhering the following objectives:

  • Continually monitor our impact in terms of carbon emissions and constantly seek ways of reducing these
  • Set achievable environmental targets that ensure a better standard of environmental management at the stadium
  • Treat all relevant environmental legislation and regulations as the minimum standard and seek to exceed them wherever possible
  • Ensure all resources are used efficiently and that consumption doesn't exceed the level required for core business operation
  • Procure recycled products where possible to reduce our impact on natural resource extraction
  • Continue to promote environmental awareness and performance in staff
