Stadium Monitoring Group
The Stadium Monitoring Group (SMG) holds quarterly meetings at the Brit Oval, attended by local Oval residents, members of Lambeth Council and community leaders. The meetings provide a forum for communication between Surrey County Cricket Club and their local community stakeholders.
We would welcome any new members who might have an interest in the Club, the surrounding area, and the wider community. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Max Camplin at Dialogue for more information by email max.camplin@localdialogue.com or phone 020 7357 6606.
All Stadium Monitoring Group meetings are annotated and you can find the last SMG minutes here.
Get Involved
Local residents who live in close proximity to the Brit Oval are entitled to enter Surrey County Cricket Club’s Residents’ Ballot. This gives you, the local resident the chance to get tickets to major matches during the season. Historically, we distribute around 500 tickets every season from a selection of domestic fixtures including LVCC County Championship, Twenty20 Cip fixtures to International Test and One-Day matches.
So far in 2009, we have given over 5000 tickets to residents and local groups to Surrey Domestic Fixtures, ICC World Twenty20 matches so far this year as well as tickets to the nPower Ashes Test and the One Day International vs Austrailia
To enter simply fill in your details on the Ballot Form and we will contact you if you are successful. We will pick names out of the hat until all tickets have been allocated. You will also receive the Community Newsletter on a regular basis.

Tai Chi
A Saturday morning Tai Chi session takes place in both the Lambeth Hall (Vauxhall End of the Brit Oval) and moves to Kennington Park in the summer. It involves all comers from the young to the young at heart. In partnership with the Kennington Association and delivered by Tai Chi UK, it involves a set of graceful exercises which help to aid mobility and help relaxation. It runs for the majority of year and has a very friendly atmosphere.
If you want to get active please contact Christine Eames-Jones, KA Tai Chi Coordinator by emailing christine.eames-jones@ntlworld.com for details on times and costs.
Road Closures
Onthe advice of the Metropolitan Police, Surrey County Cricket Club applies to the London Borough of Lambeth for specific roads closures around the Brit Oval on major match days to ensure that the emergency services can access the ground if emergency incidents should occur. Parking is also suspended on the affected roads.
When parking is suspended on Kennington Oval, Bowling Green Street and Clayton Street we will work with Lambeth Council to provide another area close by for residents to park their cars. Please click here to find out details on the 2009 closures
